Pretend to be Nice

Teacher-Moms, on the edge…

The Best of the Best

If not for everyone, then for me and my diminishing memory – I’d like to keep up with things that were the best for that month.  The best recipe, craft, post, book, whatever.

I’d call it the Top 10 Countdown (like David Letterman – especially since he went to my Alma Mater…or I went to his…how ever that works) but assigning a number seems like an awful lot of pressure and it’s probably some copyright infringement.

aint_nobody

Just warning you – they probably won’t be the same topics, or categories, or just one of each.  Hey, it’s my blog post, I can do whatever I want!

Here was my BEST of the BEST

for July

Best Vacation Spot – Costa Rica

My son stayed with my blogging buddy, Andrea (this is where they live full time since abandoning me in Texas).  Stay tuned for posts on that trip!

Scott loves bacon!

Scott loves bacon!

lizanoBest Food – My souviner from Scott’s trip:  Lizano Salsa.  It’s more of a condiment sauce than what we think of as traditional salsa.   400g gone in 2 days!  This stuff is AMAZING!  I have had it on EVERY.  SINGLE.  THING.  since he gave it to me (good thing I haven’t had cereal in awhile).

cardioid

Best MATH facebook Post – From MindShift:  OH MY GAWD! I want to adopt her! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE This! This is how my brain works and how I would love to teach (because I think kids would stop hating math if we could teach/learn/grow/experience/explore like this)!  She has lots of videos, you should put them on a loop and just run them non-stop ;)

satselfie

Best Picture – Saturday Selfie:  My daughter, Julia, and one of our dogs, Gertey.

PTBN Post you should check out:

Dear K-Evil – I want to say no...  To get you through the last days of summer when your kids and their friends get on your last nerve.  You want to be a cool, nice, fun mom – but come on!  Sometimes you just want to say “NO!”  but don’t know how.

We follow this person, so should you:

Tempest Rose at Nonsense & Shenanigans

She is SO funny!  And she lets me confess (which is good and bad – since I’m not Catholic).

Best Project - Zeer Pot:  non-electric cooling system.

zeer pot projectMy group of girl scouts made this for our local Community Garden so gardeners could share their excess bounty with others.  It says it can keep things 13-25 degrees cooler (and we’ll take whatever we can get in Texas).  Ours has a plastic lid with a handle.  (I’ll take more pictures the next time I’m out there.)

What we’re BINGE watching:  My husband and I just finished Damages with Glenn Close and the girls and I watched Devious Maids.

BEST accessory:  Otter box wallet case.  I don’t have a purse and I’ve lost count how many times I’ve lost my credit card – but I’ve never lost my phone (knock on wood).

BEST snack: Granola Bar Poppers   Even better, my daughter made them all by herself (and they were fabulous)!

Best

What were your BESTs for July?
